Prince Charles Visited The Scene Of The Finsbury Park Terror Attack Today, Meeting Worshippers And The Imam Mohammed Mahmoud

Prince Charles Visits Scene of Finsbury Park Terror Attack & Meets Imam Mohammed Mahmoud

During the visit, Prince Charles stressed that he particularly wanted to bring a message from the Queen.  He said “The Queen has specifically asked me to tell you how shocked she was by what happened, particularly as the victims were worshippers who had been attending Ramadan prayers – and Her Majesty’s thoughts and prayers are with you all.  And if I may say so, I can only but join in my particular thoughts and prayers to Her Majesty’s on this occasion and to say that for many years I have taken a great interest in the Muslim Community.” Prince Charles went on to say that he was “deeply impressed” by Imam Mohammed Mahmoud because he shielded attacks on the suspect, adding “Thank goodness we have wonderful leaders.”

Following this horrendous attack in Finsbury Park, during which a van was horrifyingly driven into a crowd of people outside a mosque, the immediate, and enduring, solidarity, compassion and love of the surrounding community was once again overwhelming.

People came together offering support immediately, and did everything they could think of to help and show unity after the event.

Once again, the emergency services were on hand within minutes to help the victims, and the Mosque Imam Mohammed Mahmoud used his own body to stop bystanders from attacking the suspect, saying that it was the “right thing to do.” He went on to say that “the people here allowed sense to prevail and didn’t allow any mob rule to dictate the outcome of the situation.”

Mohammed paid tribute to the emergency services, and victims, saying “The true heroes are those who arrived on the scene right at the start and the heroes are those in the hospital right now suffering with injuries, some of them life-threatening. The Great British Public always knows that when a tragedy occurs, they don’t ask the denomination, the ethnicity of a victim, they know that he’s a human or she’s a human, and they put humanity before everything.”
