MOOD

A wind that blows from the East sweeps the catwalk of the ELISABETTA FRANCHI FW15-16 collection.

The wardrobe revisits the charm of the Rising Sun; the uncompromisingly contemporary and hyper-feminine attitude resonates with ELISABETTA FRANCHI’s unmistakeable style. Femininity rests upon bold contrasts: the impalpable and sensual East meets the rigour of a distinctively masculine wardrobe. Tuxedos, high-waist trousers and over jackets match with suggestive graphics and colours, in a homage to the sophisticated taste of the Oriental style.

SHAPES AND MATERIALS

The collection “must” revolves around the all over prints: flowering branches and snowy landscapes remind of the streets of Kyoto as they embellish the look of dresses, shirts and skirts. Flower-laden handmade embroideries appear on wide-sleeved dresses and blouses, the centre of attention with exaggerated and carefully designed volumes, mimicking the proportions of charming kimonos.

The oriental leitmotiv is present also in the form of nappa leather, a sophisticated detail to bring out the drawstrings at the waist of skirts and trousers.

Animal prints on scale-patterned fabrics and accessories alternate with the mesmerising livery of the tiger.

Gold and black matching shades for precious embroideries along evening dresses, kimonos and knee-length skirts.

The key fabrics of the collection are colour changing, light-reflecting satins: duchesse, super elastic or light and flowing, they alternate on materials never used before by the brand – such as technical double fabric – which account for light volumes in flared, tulip, amphora-shaped skirts or doll-style mini-dresses with a well marked waistline. The many matelassé jacquard items have a sophisticated lightness on wide and unexpected volumes.

Faded-hued, fluttering fringes decorate the dresses with sophisticated elegance.

ACCESSORIES

The protagonists of the shoes collections are the ankle boots; their geometric heels in the gold version are decorated with Japan-style nappa and charming string braids. Among the bags, many are available in the pocket size, precious and glittery like jewels and perfect for every occasion. The mini bucket bag, confirmed as the chic trend of the collection, is also extra small.

COLOURS

The main colour of the collection is a seductive ink blue: the hues that complement the colour palette are raspberry red, black, dusty-pink/toffee and ivory.
