BYBROWN debuted last Saturday 12th July at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam as part of Vodafone First Fashion LAB. RESTLESS SYMMETRY, the Spring/Summer 2015 women’s collection is inspired by the water molecule.
BYBROWN opened the show with a video installation of water moving and transforming to the rhythm of music. This refined and fresh collection began with white and beige elegant, flowing dresses and knits layered with yellow jersey. The silhouette and colour then transformed continually moving from khaki leather to turquoise neoprene combined with both real and printed cork in jackets and dresses with strong constructed forms and lines. For the finale the collection was layered with the new signature BYBROWN raindress where the stunning colour pallet and ultra-modern wet look styling gave the whole collection attitude.
Water has been an important inspiration for Brown for the last couple of years
culminating in the development of the Raindress, which is designed for urban cycling and will be available on from coming October.
Brown explains, ‘The water molecule is restless, asymmetrical and unstable but it embodies the ideal of harmony. It is also very spiritual, always ready to change, to adapt itself, to create and transform.’
Two of the looks in the BYBROWN collection, a loosely knitted off white dress and jumper were developed by ReBlend. Together with sponsor Humana and upcycling initiative ReBlend, BYBROWN worked with 100% recycled new yarn made of mixed residual materials, which are made without water use or adding any chemicals.
BYBROWN would like to thank HUMANA, ReBlend and Stichting DOEN for their support.
