Raised in Amsterdam, Olaf Hussein launched in 2010 as a denim label, producing top qua lity jeans that combine modern details w ith classic essent ia ls. Now, for the third col lection, the brand i s carrying the same mindset through in its first full range line.

On Thursday July 10th, at the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam, Olaf Hussein presented it s 2014 col lection as  part  of Vodafone First Fashion LAB.

A collection that , for the first time in the label ’s history, includes shirts, sweaters, jackets and shoes, alongside it’ s core denim.

Putt ing the mod back in modern, the collect ion draws inspiration from the s tyl ish young men of the late 50’s. From their clean aesthetics, to their razor sha r p tailor ing, traces of the mods can be found throughout the entire line.

Mixing essentials w ith contemporary details l ike
bonded fabrics, drawstring hems and seams sealing, it ’s lifting a classic look up to current modern standards. The aim with the collect ion, though inspired by the mods, isn’t to make a bold statement , but rather to make a strong first impression.

From the start, Olaf Hussein has had simplicity, quality and fit at its core.

With its modern take on the classic 5-pocket s tyle jeans, Olaf Hussein showed a vision for subtle luxury and understated items, something that st ruck a cord wit h retailers and press alike. After denim authority stores around the world, such as Tenue de Nîmes, Lui’s and 14 oz. s tarted carrying the brand, sites like Super future, Rawr Denim and Hypebeas t quickly caught on.

With the new col lect ion Olaf Hussein is continuing it s momentum. Based on a belief  in quality and timeless designs, the brand doesn’t adhere to seasons, but chooses to create a line that ’s wearable throughout the year.
