Melissa Siegrist - AMSTERDAM FASHION WEEK SS14Vintage sportswear with a minimalist touch best describes the new SS14 collection of young designer Melissa Siegrist. Monday, July, 2015 at Amsterdam Fashion Week, the public became acquainted with her ​​new men’s line. This season sees Melissa inspired by the American baseball from the ’50s.

The young designer showed this season for the fourth time at the Amsterdam Fashion Week. Melissa again performs its own signature, with a street mart collection and minimalist design.

Babe Ruth as an icon

The collection for the upcoming spring and summer consists mainly of plain or striped baseball jackets and pants, as we know from legends like Joe DiMaggio and Babe Ruth. The materials are tailored to the 50s, natural materials such as linen and cotton prevail. The color palette ranges from faded to intense red and blue to beige graying.

About Melissa Siegrist

Melissa Siegrist (1984) started to study architecture at the School of the Arts (HKU). In 2010 she graduated from ArtEZ with a clean women’s collection with masculine influences. After several internships at include Viktor & Rolf menswear and Three As Four in New York, Melissa started her own menswear label. She gets her inspiration from sportswear and typical of her collections is the delicate balance between male and female influences.
