KTZ SS14 womenswear draws attention to the traditions, and
migrations of nomadic cultures and their impact on today’s society.
Voluminous wraps of sheer fabric represent the organic conditions
of desert life: sweeping winds and rolling sand dunes. Strong
graphic gestures and layers of distinct pattern provide a direct link
to the ethnic aesthetic which drove the collection.
Inspiration is taken from the spiritual and topographical: drawing
upon cultures that use clothing as markers of social and religious
difference, and the landscape that has defined them. The contrast
between strong, restrictive jewellery and layers of billowing
material outline these tensions, whilst creating a silhouette which
is distinctly modern.
