FENDI

Outdoors, by the pool, under a glaring sun, fragrant Mediterranean smells filling up the air, green grass caressing the feet.

Enjoying life and simple pleasures. Clothes that look deceptively ‘normal’ yet hide ‘complex’ workmanships and surprise with precious materials on the inside, or on the double side.

A perfect balance between normality and complexity.

Sun and fun are key words for the Spring/Summer 2017 FENDI Men’s Collection designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi. Playful and energetic. Soft and almost ‘washed’ materials together with welcoming shapes define an easy, relaxed silhouette apt for long days spent outside, lazily. Coats, parkas and blousons are fluid, shirt-jackets are firm and pragmatic, shorts bare legs. Silk tracksuit and quilted caftans for a zing of exoticism.

Terrycloth is used profusely: a plush indulgence, like a summer fur.

Everything, from bucket hats to quilted coats and silk foulards, is reversible, allowing for sudden changes, making for a constant face-off.

Stripes, both slim and bold, give rhythm and freshness, landing everywhere, from suits to bags and baggage, turning into engaging bonded textures on polo shirts, jacquards on tailored pieces, subtle prints on liquid parkas and waterproof on bathing suits.

FENDI reinterprets its iconic Pequin stripes with a new artistic approach, morphing it into a vibrant, hand-drawn pattern, and creates a series of characters that swarm like patches on suitcases.

The pool might be the horizon, in fact, but the FENDI man is essentially a traveller, bringing all he needs inside logoed travel bags, piling camera cases and stripy pouches at the neck, strapping it all together with the colourful Strap You. Cut-out sneakers with ankle strings, pool slides or running socks for the shoes.

The sunglasses with a slim metal frame, matching two leather layers in natural or pale colours with brow-line shape, are part of the first FENDI Men’s Eyewear Collection.

His mind is free, individual and creative.
