What a magnificent day it was yesterday! Firstly, President Obama met up with David Cameron at No 10 for private talks for over an hour yesterday morning.
Outside, many UK and US Veterans and their wives quietly made their way into No 10 for a BBQ. The gentlemen looked wonderful in their Military Regalia, and their wives were dressed to perfection.

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama made her way to No 10 in an armoured convoy,
and ‘slipped in through the back door’ to get ready with Samantha Cameron.
Shortly afterwards, in a sunny back garden, amidst UK and US bunting, David Cameron and President Obama could be seen behind the Bar-B serving burgers and sausages to the military families, and Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron served the salad!

Michelle Obama looked extremely glamorous in a black dress with a sheer top, with a striking black and white pattern, by Tracy Reese, (an American designer – view her Autumn/Winter 2011 collection in our slideshow from New York Fashion Week at the top of this page) and her trademark large belt which was embellished with black crytals. Samantha Cameron looked very feminine in a white cap-sleeved dress, (by Jonathan Saunders Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, which can be bought at Selfridges for approximately £895.) The dress was faintly imprinted with a pale blue pattern. The dress had a similarly wide belt to Michelle’s, but this time in green. After the BBQ, President Obama and David Cameron went to personally thank and shake the hands of the veterans. Anyone lucky enough to have been able to watch this, and see the pride and happiness on the face of these brave men (many of them injured) to personally meet their leader’s – (moreover, to be served lunch by them), was a sight which will be hard to forget.
Obama and Cameron Press Conference
After this, a smiling David Cameron and President Obama went off to Lancaster House for a Press Conference, and then, later, on to Westminster Hall, where President Obama addressed both Houses of Parliament for an inspirational speech in which he described the future as “A new chapter of relations between the UK and the US”, and also described the UK/US relationship as “One of the strongest alliances the World has known”.
Michelle Obama at Oxford University
Meanwhile, Michelle Obama went off to visit Oxford University, where, she too made an inspirational speech to students from the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School, where she told them to “Dream Big”, and then back to Buckingham Palace for a rest before then heading off once again yesterday evening to the US Ambassador’s residence for an official dinner, where President Obama and Michelle hosted a banquet for the Queen and Prince Philip.
Mr & Mrs Obama greeted the Queen and Prince Philip yesterday evening at the entrance of the US Ambassador’s Residence in Regent’s Park. The Queen looked wonderful in Angela Kelly, wearing a sapphire and diamond tiara and earrings, and Michelle Obama once again looked extremely glamorous in an off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown, with her hair swept to the side. She wore a beautiful diamond necklace which completed the look.
