Fashion is a vibrant industry, always on the lookout for new talent. Here in Sussex we have some of the best courses and the brightest hopes for the future. We went to the Graduate Shows in London and Brighton to take a look at what they’re doing .

Every year, we pay homage to the work which has been created by the students graduating from fashion colleges and universities across the country.

Here, we bring you some examples of the amazing craftsmanship and spectacular designs from our own Brighton University, and Northbrook College. The Brighton Graduate Show is enormously anticipated locally and held at home.

Celebrities and Press travel from far and wide to view the students’ work. Many other universities and colleges choose to collectively show their work in London at Earl’s Court.

This year, everyone from Nicola Roberts, Rachel Stevens, Alberta Ferretti, Mark Eley of Eley Kishimotoand Diversity (who opened the Gala Show) were in attendance.

Northbrook Student Rhea Fields, 22,won the Best Womenswear award in London, whilst fellow Northbrook Students, Helena Yazdian-Tehrani was short listed for the Menswear Award, and Delavieje Nahvi for the Zandra Rhodes Textiles Award.

Steven Woodward from Brighton University previously beat hopefuls from 34 universities across the country to show his designs in Fashion Awareness Direct at London Fashion Week in February, and you can see why!

We couldn’t be more proud, and are pleased to be able to present some of the outstanding work from these innovative young designers at both the Gala Show in London and the Brighton Show.

Ledina Zhang from Northumbria University  – BHM Knitwear Visionary Award

Anna Lee from De Montfort University –Zandra Rhodes Catwalk Textile Award

Roya Hesam from Amsterdam Fashion Institute – International Award winner

Rebecca Thompson – Manchester Metropolitan University  –  River Island Gold Award (The River Island Award came with a£20,000 prize!)
