Dido Yland shows a colorful and modern collection at Amsterdam Fashion Week

Dutch Fashion designer Dido Yland presents her Spring/Summer 2014 collection ‘Bon Voyage!’ at the 2013 Amsterdam Fashion Week ‘Fashion LAB’ show on Sunday the 14th of July.

Bon Voyage! is a fresh and light collection with bright colours and smooth, delicate fabrics, combined with stiff straps to get a playful image. Dido Yland’s newest collection is about movement, inspired by shape and details of the suits of railway guards, stewards and train drivers and the decorating colours of trains. Since a lot of her friends live far away, Dido spends many hours in trains, travelling through Belgium and The Netherlands. During her research vintage flight attendant suits caught her eye and were another inspiration to design new modern pieces. Which combine very well with the graphical, colourful shoes of Anna Korshun and the handmade hats of Yashkathor.

Dido Yland (1987) graduated at ArtEZ Arnhem in 2009 and lives and works in Antwerp. She was nominated for the Frans Molenaar Award 2009 and was selected for Modetalent 2009 by the Modefabriek Amsterdam. Dido debuted at the Amsterdam Fashion Week in January 2013. Designs by Dido Yland are characterized as ‘modern and graphical’ with a strong focus on shape and colour and yet very elegant and feminine. Dido Yland designs are sold at various shops in the Netherlands and Belgium.

For this Fashion LAB show Dido Yland collaborates with Dutch shoe designer Anna Korshun and London based hat designers Yashkathor.
