It was a wonderful, historic day yesterday when the leaders of Russia, President Vladimir Putin,
Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy,
Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel,
and France, President Emmanuel Macron,
met in Paris to hold peace talks.

The Leaders Take Their Seats
It was the first time that the newly appointed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had met Russian President Vladimir Putin, and they held a one and a half hour meeting, one-to-one, after which, President Putin said that he was happy that he and Mr Zelenskiy had got to meet and that things “were going in the right direction.”
The leaders have agreed to meet again in four month’s time, with Mr Zelenskiy saying “There’s no homework”, meaning there are no pre-conditions.
After the meeting, the leaders held a press conference
with all leaving the conference afterwards smiling amicably
