The Duke & Duchess Of Sussex Christen Baby Archie On Saturday 6th July 2019

On Saturday 6th July 2019, The Duke & Duchess of Sussex Christened Their Baby Son Archie In A Private Ceremony, Conducted Within A Chapel in Windsor Castle.  The Ceremony was so private, in fact, that it wasn’t clear initially whether we would see the christening photos, but it seemed that the couple had planned to share the pictures all along.  And we are certainly glad they did as he is beautiful, with a touch of red to his hair – just like his daddy!

Princess Diana’s Sisters Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale were in the family photo, which also included Meghan’s mum Doria, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Camilla.

The second photo is one of Prince Harry and Meghan holding baby Archie in the Castle’s Rose Garden.

Even though the Christening was private, people came from far and wide, lining the streets of Windsor, hoping to get a glimpse of the Royals.

———-

The imminent arrival of Baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor caused much excitement this week with crowds descending upon Windsor in their droves…
109

People came from far and wide to soak up the wonderful atmosphere, which was intoxicating

93

and to purchase memorabilia and sample some of the amazing food and drink on offer in Windsor

114

And The ‘Royal Superfans’ were out in force

116

The baby “who was a bit overdue” (in Prince Harry’s own words) arrived at 05.26 on the 6th May 2019.

Prince Harry Announces Baby Archie's Arrival

Prince Harry popped out from Frogmore Cottage and over to the stables within Windsor Castle on the morning of the baby’s birth, the 6th May, to inform the World that Meghan had delivered the baby at 05.26 and that we would be seeing the baby in the next couple of days, the baby was well, and that they were very happy.

Landmarks immediately lit up in Britain and around the World upon the baby’s arrival…

The BT Tower displayed the sign “It’s A Baby Boy”

102

And The London Eye lit up in the colours of Red, White & Blue

99

The Champagne Corks started popping immediately….
115

And an easel was displayed at Buckingham Palace (as with all Royal babies) shortly afterwards, stating the details and timing of the birth

98

And the Windsor Castle Guards made a splendid rendition of “Congratulations”

Much to the delight of the waiting crowds in Windsor

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with many of the other royals released the following statement:-

The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news. The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.”

Then the wait began, with more and more people descending on Windsor in anticipation of the arrival,

72

and news stations from all over the World assembling their equipment.

73

Then on the 8th May at around 11.00 a.m. Meghan and Harry introduced their gorgeous new baby to the World.

112

Harry gently carried the baby as though he was a delicate piece of china and the young couple looked adorable together with their “little bundle of joy”. (Another ‘Harry-ism’.)

111

Meghan looked healthy and happy with her long shiny locks flowing naturally, wearing a stunning white coat-dress.

112

When you say that something is a “picture of happiness” – that statement would seldom apply more that it does here. It was wonderful to see their collective joy, and also lovely to see that Harry has finally found the love of his life and now has his own family.
107

Harry lent forwards upon request, protectively allowing the photographers to take some photographs of the baby’s lovely face

113

Harry and Meghan both answered questions from the press and then the little family turned around and walked on back down the hallway

52

as they said that they were off to introduce the baby to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh

108

but not before Meghan made a point of thanking everyone for their good wishes, saying “Thank you for the kindness…”
