THE FIRE AT NOTRE-DAME CATHEDRAL CAUSED ENORMOUSDAMAGE
AND RAGED FEROCIOUSLY UNTIL EARLY MORNING
UNTIL THE HEROIC FIREFIGHTERS WERE ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT
It is said that around four hundred heroic firefighters fought the fire with courage and determination and the scale of their challenge should not be underestimated, as they went on working throughout the night to bring the blaze under control.
In a show of remarkable team-work, French Priest Jean-Marc Fournier, Chaplain of the Paris Fire Brigade also heroically battled the fire and managed to save the Blessed Sacrament and the Crown of Thorns amongst other precious artefacts when he went into the Cathedral alongside the firefighters.
After the fire had been extinguished today, the Notre-Dame Golden Cross stood strong, shimmering above the altar giving much hope to the French people after the tragic images from last night, as remarkably it is said that most of the precious and priceless artefacts had been saved, and the main structure of the Cathedral is still intact. (And also not one person was hurt in the incident…)
