YMC SPRING/SUMMER 15
This season YMC are sticking to the philosophy of “you have to go back to go
forward.” YMC hijack the decades by effortlessly combining 60’s surf with 90’s
minimalism to give this summers collection a loose relaxed silhouette.
A potpourri of bold prints are inspired by 20’s silk pyjamas and traditional feed
sacks brought back from the 40’s that sit comfortably alongside stripes &
checks to create a playful pop aesthetic. This playful side is translated into one
of the key pieces, the banana split bucket hat.
Uniform khaki and navy are lifted by primary reds, royals and a pink dust
translated onto these seasons fabrics. The fabrics are contrasted to one
another, combining the old with the new, like the PU coated linen, a
perforated cotton and nylon which gives cotton blends and creased nylons a
clean but worn once look. Principal outerwear pieces are the see-though
rubber flashers mac, the check lined drawstring blazer and the embroidered
dot field jacket.
