JOSEPH ABBOUD – SPRING/SUMMER 2013

“For Spring 2013 we look to the City of Los Angeles for inspiration-reworking James Dean’s iconic look from the 1950′s and incorporating elements from the 1980′s.  We are playing with classic menswear in a modern way to reveal a collection of effortless style and supreme masculine confidence.” – Bernardo Rojo

The Joseph Abboud S/S 2013 collection expresses a mood of easy confidence, taking cues from the tailored sportwear and relaxed attitude of James Dean, recently reflected in the character ‘Driver’ from the 2012′s movie, Drive.

Classic garments are juxtaposed with modern materials and  cut to offer a relaxed yet elegant look.  A wardrobe for the manwho embraces individualism and effortless style.

American Sportswear is redefined through  the use of technical materials and refined, luxurious tailoring;  creating a uniquely modern look.  This reflects Rojo’s design vision, to create a sophisticated alternative to nostalgic American sportswear:  a bold colour palette and 80′s inspired volume complete the look.

Creative director Bernardo Rojo brings Joseph Abboud to London today for the first time in the brand’s history, as part of the  much anticipated London Collections: Men.  In his three seasons as creative director, Rojo has garnered attention for changing thecourse of the 25-year-old brand and drawing from modern design to create a remained vision for American classics.
