BAARTMANS AND SIEGEL MRTW Spring/Summer 2015 PLATOON

Baartmans and Siegel’s spring collection explores action in a playful and quintessentially English approach to utility & controlled-freedom.

The season was launched by thoughts of hyper-controlled action
environments. Platoons, sports teams, and leagues etc. These grouped individuals contribute to a sense of engineered tribal & collective male energy an exciting potential for ignition of force.

As ever the design duo focus on crafting garments that ignites internal confidant masculinity through defined and approachable silhouettes. While fusing and creating a military-sport hybrid sensibility, each piece lures through simplistic, yet indulgent finishing & fabrication. Trademark ‘modern-classic’ shapes such as the carcoat & reversible tank jacket all balance quiet simplicity, as well as considered touches of modernity.

Black coated hardware sit comfortably next to perforated suedes & brushed Italian wools. With a muted & focused colour palate of moss greens & arsenic navy shades, the collection caters to the schizophrenic weather spectrum of an ‘English Summer’. Brushed paneled overcoats feel light & water resistant with breathable
nylon linings & adjustable waists.

Curved sleeve, multi-zip blousons jackets sit comfortably, with strong
colour blocked soft tailoring, while soft-shell bomber jackets provide effortless sophistication.

Playful touches are nestled amongst manipulated fabrications- rip stop, contrast colour windbreakers, as well as the return to signature pieces such as the formal jogger and double layer shorts.

The blend of form & function is celebrated through light-weight breeze inviting airtex button-down army shirts, and box cut cotton airtex shirt/jackets. Detachable hooded jackets cater to changing landscapes and indecisive moments, as do jersey lined deconstructed soft tailored suit jackets in water-resistant nylon.
As the season highlights the idea of collective energy, two dynamic collaborations are displayed and incorporated, emphasizing the power of performance & luxury.

The distinguished eyewear label, Fanoptics, and Baartmans and Siegel are pleased to launch the creation two shapes of optical & sunglasses, handcrafted
in England and created in marbled compressed fibers. These two shapes stylishly evoke adventure & a cinematic romanticism for summer exploration.

Continuing with an accessories offering, Spring/Summer 2015 LCM is the launch for the anticipated footwear collaboration of BAS X Kickers. Two related styles which boast an attitude of grounded rebellion, created in durable & robust mixed leathers. The colour tones compliment the ready-to-wear garments of the collection, clearly evoking sky & earth tones of blue & green- faintly conjuring sensory touch-points of new, fresh climatic horizons.
