BUCKINGHAM PALACE HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE BABY PRINCE IS TO BE CALLED PRINCE GEORGE ALEXANDER LOUIS!!

THE BABY WILL BE KNOWN AS:-

THE DUKE & DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE HAVE ARRIVED AT THE MIDDLETON FAMILY HOME IN BUCKLEBURY.

YESTERDAY, THE QUEEN WENT TO KENSINGTON PALACE TO MEET HER NEW GREAT-GRANDCHILD!!

THE NEW PRINCE WAS BORN ON MONDAY AFTERNOON AT 4.24 P.M., AT ST. MARY’S HOSPITAL, PADDINGTON.

HE WEIGHED 8IB 6 OZ WHEN BORN, WHICH MAKES HIM THE HEAVIEST FUTURE KING TO BE BORN IN RECENT TIMES!

YESTERDAY, WHEN LEAVING ST. MARY’S HOSPITAL, PRINCE WILLIAM SAID “HE’S A BIG BOY, HE’S QUITE HEAVY. HE’S GOT A GOOD PAIR OF LUNGS ON HIM.” PRINCE WILLIAM HELD THE BABY AFTER CATHERINE, WHILST SPEAKING TO THE PRESS, AND LOOKED VERY HAPPY AND RELAXED.

HIS STRONG ARMS CRADLING HIS NEW AND VERY IMPORTANT PACKAGE WHILST SPEAKING, BUT ALL THE TIME LOOKING BACK DOWN AGAIN TO CHECK ON THE BABY.

THE DUCHESS LOOKED BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXED, WEARING A POWDER BLUE POLKA-DOT JENNY PACKHAM DRESS, WHICH RESEMBLED THE DRESS WORN BY PRINCESS DIANA WHEN SHE LEFT HOSPITAL WITH PRINCE WILLIAM WHEN HE WAS BORN.

The Queen Opened the Gates to the Buckingham Palace Gardens on the 11th July 2013, to allow over 200 companies from a cross-section of British trade and industry to ‘show their wares’ on the lawns of Buckingham Palace!

The event was hosted by the Royal Warrant Holders Association, and each of the 200 exhibitors hold the prestigious Royal Warrant, which has always been regarded as a demonstration of excellence and quality.

THE QUEEN GREETS THE EXHIBITORS

The Queen took much time visiting the exhibitors, and was introduced to many people, who were able to demonstrate or explain their goods, services or skills personally.

The four main areas celebrated for innovation, excellence and industry at the Festival were HOMES & GARDENS, FOOD & DRINK, DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY, AND STYLES, PURSUITS & PASTIMES.

The Style, Pursuits & Pastimes section incorporated a Fashion Show which included some of the cream of the British Fashion Industry.

One of the exhibitors and participants of the Fashion Show was DAKS

whose London Design Team designed special Limited Edition items including a silk scarf in four exclusive Coronation themed designs and a range of small leather goods for the event.

Here is what Paul Diamond, the Deputy Chairman had to say:-

“DAKS is a proud holder of all three Royal Warrants, and are delighted to be part of The Coronation Festival. It is the most thrilling privilege in our long history. The Festival provides us with a great platform on which to tell something of the DAKS story, and to showcase our Spring/Summer 2013 menswear, womenswear and accessory collections together with exclusive products designed for the Coronation Festival. We wish all visitors a memorable time and our colleagues among the exhibitors a successful participation.”

The event was organised by Media 10 Ltd., and the partners for the event were GlaxoSmithKline, Bentley, and Jaguar Land Rover.

In the evening, there came the most beautiful Coronation Festival Gala, which was set against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace.

The Ethical Award went to Sarah Murphy from Northumbria University. The Knitwear Award was won jointly by Josianne Propp from Manchester and Caitlin Charles Jones of Kingston.

The Diamond Jubilee Concert was a resounding success, (although the sad news that the Duke of Edinburgh had been taken into hospital with a kidney infection obviously had an effect on the proceedings – there were tears in many of the performers eyes)

Vivienne Westwood clashed sexy pinstriped and checked trousers with sporty tops and cardigans on jaw-droppingly gorgeous male models, and the t-shirts emblazoned with torches and medals were very eye-catching. The evening wear pieces were beautifully tailored and included cropped trouser suits, some with silk cummerbunds and matching headbands.

Teddy Boys and rockabillies were the order of the day at Gucci and Constume Nationale Homme where the slim blazer featured heavily, with the rocker look also making an appearance on the catwalks at Moschino and Alexander McQueen.

It was prints and patterns galore at Burberry in Christopher Bailey’s quirky ‘Global Traveller’ themed collection, and also in D & G’s eyecatching collection of shorts and brightly patterned shirts, (perfect attire
for once one’s destination has been reached!)

Dries van Noten focused on sporty outerwear in Paris, with the collection consisting of shiny parkas, bomber jackets and blazers, and the outlook was bright over at Kenzo with resort inspired vivid short and trousers
suits of bright yellow’s and red’s, and floral short suits with matching hats for the ‘not-so-shrinking violet’!

In fact, there really was something for every occasion on these catwalks, from sport and travel and resort wear, through to the Slim Blazer for evening wear, as seen in many collections. Canali’s beautiful silk suits in colour-popping blue’s, green’s, yellow’s and purple’s, with exquisite embroidery on the jackets were out of this world. So take note gentlemen, in Spring/Summer 2012 there is no excuse not to look on top form - because there really will be something fabulous available for absolutely everyone, and this time, will include all of you sportsmen……!
